Prof. Dr. Saban Ali DÜZGÜN

Graduated from Faculty of Theology in Ankara University in 1989, I prepared my MA thesis on some modernist movements among Muslims in Indian Sub-Continent, Sayyid Ahmet Khan and His Intellectual Modernity in particular. I studied my thesis in The School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), London.

I obtained my PhD from Ankara University. My dissertation was on a comparative study between Muslim Theologians and Philosophers on God-World Relations.

In the academic year 1999-2000 I lectured in Gregorian University, Rome.

I was visiting fellow in Woodstock Theological Center, Georgetown University, Washington, DC in the academic year of 2003-2004.

As a Fulbright Scholar I taught in Birmingham Southern College in 2007. Within this framework I lectured in Alabama Univ., University of Montavello, Miles College.

I was the editor of Journal of Divinity Faculty of Ankara Univ. for six years. I have been editor of online Journal of Theological Studies (www.kelam.org/kader).

I chaired Enghish Theology Department for two years.

Now I am head of Theology Department in Ankara University.

I teach Social Theology; Religion in International Relations; Theology of History; Theological Hermeneutics; Oriental Studies in The Crusade Period, etc.
