DNA, Yoga, the Web of Life and the Underlying Unity of All Things
Have you heard about flying partner yoga or seen the amazing pictures of people suspending and stretching and playing together with this fun and liberating practice? Well now’s your chance to try it out! This seminar will serve as an introduction to this very joyful discipline that blends the spiritual wisdom of yoga, the loving kindness of Thai massage, and the dynamic power of Acrobatics. Working together, we will cultivate trust, strength, and flexibility. The seminar will cover flying safely, the basic postures of restorative and therapeutic partner yoga, the basic principles of flying, basing and spotting properly, and it’ll be REALLY fun. Some really surprising discoveries were made when the DNA of the first human being was sequenced in its entirety. We all share common genetic sequences with many different living creatures, and many of our genes have been have been transported from other species by piggybacking on different viruses. In this talk, we will discuss some of the implications of this finding, and how this discovery supports some of the principles of yoga as well as the deep underlying unity of all living beings.

Kabbalah, Tasavvuf, Yoga, Budizm: In these sessions, we will gather four separate teachings dwelling upon the soul. After the proponents of each teaching declare their own views on the theme of the day in accordance with their own beliefs, all the speakers will simultaneously answer the same questions from their perspectives. Participants will have the opportunity to look at the same concepts from four different directions. This will be the first forum of its kind in the world.

Ana Forrest has been changing people’s lives for nearly 40 years.  An internationally recognized pioneer in yoga and emotional healing, Ana created Forrest Yoga while working through her own healing from her life’s trauma and experience.  With thousands of licensed practitioners around the world, Forrest Yoga is renowned as an intensely physical, internally focused practice that emphasizes how to carry a transformative experience off the mat and into daily life.

Ana took her first yoga class at age 14 on a dare and became a certified instructor at age 18.  Her extensive study and clinical application of healing modalities, including homeopathic and naturopathic remedies, anatomy, reflexology, pressure point therapy, craniosacral therapies, Shiatsu, chiropractic, polarity and hands on healing, always informs her work.  In her life-long pursuit of becoming a better teacher and healer, Ana has undertaken intimate studies in Sweat Lodge, Pipe Ceremony, Vision Quest and Sundance with various Native American and African healers. 
 
Ana is an ordained practitioner of Native American Medicine, a Reiki Master, a Certified Regression Therapist, and a graduate of Anthony Robbins Master University.   She is a Faculty Member at The University of Bridgeport College of Chiropractic and sits on the Boards of F.A.R.E. Play (Foundation for Athletic Research and Education) and Earth & Sky Circle (organization for Native American Ceremony).  She is the recipient of a Los Angeles Mayoral Commendation recognizing her outstanding teaching and healing work in the community, the first time a major U.S. city bestowed such an honor on a yogi or yogini.  Ana is a regular contributor to Yoga Journal and a consultant to the USAF 48th Fighter Wing (RAF Lakenheath, UK), Exalted Warrior Foundation (Tampa, FL) and hiwecanhelp.org (Newcastle, UK).
 
Ana has generated extensive worldwide media coverage.  She continues to teach throughout the year around the world.  Her book, Fierce Medicine: Breakthrough Practices to Heal the Body and Ignite the Spirit, (HarperOne) was released May 2011.

 

In this talk you will find quick examination of scientific findings on the physical/mental effects of breath work. It's exciting to see that researchers beginning to look into this topic which used to be the exclusive realm of yogis. Breathing is life. It is one of our most vital functions. One of the Five Principles of Yoga is Pranayama or Breathing Exercise which promotes proper breathing. In a Yogic point of view, proper breathing is to bring more oxygen to the blood and to the brain, and to control Prana or the vital life energy. Pranayama Yoga also goes hand in hand with the Asanas. The union of these two Yogic Principles is considered as the highest form of purification and self-discipline, covering both mind and body. Breathing is the only means of supplying our bodies and its various organs with oxygen which is vital for our survival. You will learn the importance of proper breathing both in yoga and in science and how they relate in this section.

DR. Joseph & DR. Carolyn CLAUSS

Doctors Joseph and Carolyn Clauss have been practicing chiropractic for 25 years in their two offices located in Upstate New York. They specialize in holistic health, vitalism, nutrition, and upper cervical subluxation correction. Their specific techniques and clinical experience has empowered them to know that there is a great potential for the natural healing abilities that are driven by the innate intelligence and nervous system. Their Chiro passion is to serve others and assist as many as possible to restore their health and function at their optimal potential. In their 18th year in practice they delivered their one millionth adjustment! The doctors have lectured at chiropractic and health conferences, state and national chiropractic associations, and many colleges and universities throughout the US. Dr. Joe and Dr. Carolyn are founding members of the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association, and are certified by the American Naturopathic Board. In 2010, Dr. Joseph Clauss was honored by the New York State Chiropractic Council, and was presented with the Beacon award for “Chiropractor of the Year” in excellence and leadership. 

Dr. Carolyn Clauss before entering into the profession of chiropractic engaged in cancer research involving in vitro cell culture techniques. While researching, Dr. Carolyn was faced with a serious health challenge and a prognosis of surgical removal of the right kidney.  This challenge led her to spin not only her research in a 180 degree direction, but her whole outlook on life. By the recommendation of a dear friend she sought out chiropractic care.  Within months her health returned and so began her quest for a profession of chiropractic and natural health care. 
The Doctors have been best friends, husband and wife, and partners for 30 years.  They enjoy living on their organic farm in the Adirondack Mountains, homeschooling their three sons Joseph, Rocco, and Patrick. Presently, their vision is to continue educating about the vitalistic approach to health and chiropractic principles and the importance of the nervous system and its effects on the mind body connection and well being for all ages, worldwide.
 
This talk will cover the innate intelligence and its relationship to the mind body connection. The dynamics of the nervous system’s optimal function, its role in healing abilities and the effects of chiropractic adjustments. The secrets of health from within and the benefits of upper cervical chiropractic technique and integrity of the brain stem and spinal nervous system will be explored.

Brain and its Functions
In this talk, Dr. Barlas, who deals with brain day after day, will share with audiences his perspective on brain-behavior-mind in light of the recent knowledge gained about the operation and structure of the brain (especially in light of the findings of fMR, deep brain stimulation and epilepsy surgery studies). At the end of the talk, we will be informed about where we conceptually stand as regards brain and its operation.

Kaia NIGHTINGALE

Kaia's initial explorations in yoga and meditation in the early 70s took her to seminars around Europe, then out to India, where she spent 12 years in meditation, exploring consciousness, clearing karma, and studying advanced yogic practice. During this time she had a profound kundalini awakening, which took a decade to integrate. Her personal experience, BSc and MA degrees in psychology, and scientific research created a foundation for her spiritual counseling, her DVD "Spiritual Emergence" and her book "Journey Through Transformation."

Born in a musical family, she started piano classes at age- 4. Over the next 20 years explored several wind and string instruments, percussion and chanting and performed internationally. She now uses these skills for group healing and raising consciousness. Her CD Inner Quiet has received praise from many for its ability to release stress and improve sleep patterns.
Kaia has been teaching and leading workshops since 1986, using words of inspiration, yoga, qigong, sound, and silence to deepen people's meditative experience. Her spiritual counseling integrates yogic practice, shamanic medicine, Byron Katie's work, art therapy, EFT, sand tray therapy, and energy work to clear unhealed experiences and bring people to their full potential.
In answer to calls from a troubled humanity and mother earth, Kaia is increasingly focusing on integrating our spiritual awareness with our daily lifestyles. She co-founded Transition Ottawa, built a solar powered cabin, and trained in permaculture design. She is presently co-creating an eco-community, discovering ways to live a joyous, peaceful, loving co-existence with nature and all beings - to build heaven on earth.
